U.S. 42

MANSFIELD – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Richland County next week, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

All outlined work is weather permitting.

U.S. Route 30 major rehabilitation – U.S. 30, from State Route 309 to just east of the 5th Avenue ramps, will have single lane closures for a major rehabilitation project. Traffic will always be maintained.

NEW IMPACTS

Westbound traffic is currently in two lanes the entire length of the project.

All ramps are currently open in both the eastbound and westbound directions, apart from the SR 545 to U.S. 30 westbound entrance ramp.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

One lane of eastbound traffic will be maintained from just west of SR 309 to SR 13, and two lanes of traffic eastbound form SR 13 to just east of 5th Avenue.

Lane widths will be 11’ throughout the length of the project.

Estimated completion of entire project: May 2023

U.S. Route 42 resurfacing – U.S. 42, from Park Avenue East to Indiana Avenue, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Night work began on Tuesday, Aug. 31 and crews will be milling and paving the roadway. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: September 2021

State Route 309 resurfacing – State Route 309, from just north of SR 430 to N. Home Road, will have lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained in 11’ lanes. Estimated completion of entire project: October 2021

State Route 603 culvert replacement – NEW IMPACTS – State Route 603, just south of Franklin Church Road, will close Monday, September 13 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists will be SR 603 to SR 13, south on SR 13 to SR 96, east on SR 96 to SR 603, and reverse for northbound motorists. Estimated completion: Friday, Sept. 24, 2021
