GALION — Taylor Keeran made the most of her one season at Galion.
A 6-foot-1 senior middle hitter, Keeran helped lead the Tigers to their third straight Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championship and their first district championship since 2005. Galion was 24-2 and posted a perfect 12-0 mark in MOAC action.
The Richland Source Player of the Year, Keeran accounted for 280 kills and 78 blocks and owned a jaw-dropping .446 hitting percentage. She spent the first three years of her career at Marion Harding before moving to Galion before her senior season.
In four varsity seasons, Keeran had 943 kills and 343 blocks. She was a three-time All-MOAC first-team selection and landed a spot on the All-Ohio second team in Division III.
Keeran, who is headed to Division II Carson-Newman (Tennessee) University, is the centerpiece of a talented All-Richland Source volleyball team.
Samantha Comer, Galion: A 5-foot-9 junior outside hitter, Comer had 287 kills and a .304 hitting percentage. She was an All-Ohio third-team selection in Division III.
Kayla Hardy, Galion: A junior setter, Hardy had a whopping 883 assists to go with 221 digs. She joined teammate Taylor Keeran on the All-Ohio second team in Division III. Hardy already has 2,523 career assists in three varsity seasons.
Kenedi Goon, Crestview: A 6-foot-1 outside hitter, Goon had 319 kills for the Cougars (13-11, 9-5 Firelands Conference). The junior was an All-Ohio third-team pick and already has 906 career kills in three seasons.
Karli Shepherd, Ashland: A 6-foot junior, Shepherd had 252 kills and 58 blocks. An outside hitter, Shepherd has 878 career kills. She was selected the Ohio Cardinal Conference Player of the Year and the District 6 Player of the Year in Division I.
Lexi Evak, Buckeye Central: A senior middle hitter, Evak had 295 kills and 66 blocks as the Buckets went 19-5 overall and a perfect 16-0 in the Northern 10. Evak was a District 6 first-team selection in Division IV.
