MANSFIELD — Mansfield Police have issued a felonious assault warrant for Lakeeron Lane, 28, in connection with Tuesday’s downtown shooting that led to the lockdown of a polling place and St. Peter’s Schools.

Police say Lane is believed to still be armed and is considered dangerous.

At approximately 10:52 a.m., Police responded to the area of 92 W. 2nd Street in reference to a shooting. Upon officer’s arrival, the 41-year-old victim, Brian Webber was located a short distance away suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities say the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment where he was left in the care of hospital staff.

The suspect(s) fled prior to officer arrival in a dark, possibly black, newer sedan.

Major Crimes Detectives responded to the scene and assumed investigation into the shooting. Detectives were able to identify Lane as a suspect.
