MANSFIELD — A man was arrested Thursday night in connection with a series of robberies in Madison Township, and the Ashland Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is looking into him in another case, according to Richland County Sheriff Steve Sheldon.

Corey Pasheilich was arrested Thursday night after committing an aggravated robbery at the Sunoco Station, 1257 Ohio 430 in Madison Township and a theft at Rite Aid 1075 Ashland Road, also in Madison Township, Sheldon said.

“Deputies determined earlier in the day that Pasheilich was driving a stolen gold Chevy Impala registration GKY6218 and was the suspect in the Lincoln Inn Aggravated Robbery that occurred on March 13,” Sheldon stated in a press release. “The Sheriff’s Major Crimes unit obtained a warrant for Pasheilich for his arrest for the Lincoln Inn Aggravated Robbery yesterday afternoon and were actively looking for him with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Task Force.”

After Pasheilich was identified at the Rite Aid theft, the Ohio State Highway Patrol spotted the stolen vehicle on South Diamond at Ford Road, the press release stated. Upon stopping the vehicle Pasheilich, a passenger in the vehicle, exited the vehicle and ran. Shortly afterwards he was located hidden under a parked vehicle. He was arrested and transported to the Richland County Jail.

Authorities said the driver was a 17 year-old-male out of Florida. OSHP will be filing charges against him for possession of the stolen vehicle. The stolen vehicle was impounded by deputies and will be search Friday for evidence.

Pasheilich is also being investigated by the Ashland OSHP post for possession of another stolen vehicle that he wrecked on Sunday, Sheldon stated. Pasheilich is suspected of stealing the vehicle Sunday morning from 843 Expressview Drive. There are several charges pending against Pasheilich for that incident.
