MANSFIELD – A 27-year-old Mansfield man was arrested Tuesday on charges of receiving and distributing child pornography, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Cleveland Division.
Authorities determined that a computer assigned to Dennis J. Northover II had been used to view and download child pornography between Oct. 29 2016, and March 3, 2017, the FBI stated.
A search warrant was served Tuesday at Northover’s residence in Mansfield. During the execution of the search warrant, Northover agreed to speak with law enforcement and admitted to receiving, viewing and distributing child pornography, as well as inappropriately touching a small child.
Northover was taken into custody by members of the FBI Mansfield Resident Agency’s Child Exploitation Task Force, the FBI said. Northover had an initial appearance Wednesday morning in federal court. His detention hearing will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 15.
The FBI said it thanks local law enforcement agencies for their continued partnerships in taking child predators off the streets with a special thanks to the Mansfield Police Department and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office in this investigation.
