FREDERICKTOWN: David A. Rogers, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at his residence in Fredericktown, just six weeks after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

We mourn his loss, but celebrate his victory. This earth is not our home. He has finished the race and is now home with the Lord.

He was born September 5, 1941 to John & Madeline (Johnson) Rogers in Galion. Dave worked his whole life to win souls for the Lord. Dave and Grace’s ministries included: Welcome Church of Christ in Holmes County; Millwood Church of Christ; Concerned Christian Church in DeFuniak Springs, FL; Howard Church of Christ; and Marion Road Church of Christ in Bucyrus. He was a member of the New Life Church of Christ in Bellville.

He is survived by his loving wife Grace Rogers of Fredericktown with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage in July; their six children John (Patricia) Rogers of Fredericktown, Don (Laura) Rogers of Fredericktown, Debra (Jeff) Bowman of Danville, Scott (Gina) Rogers of Virginia Beach, Betty (Doug) Severns of Danville, and Ron Rogers of Fredericktown; adopted daughter Iris Way of Florida; nine grandchildren; six great grandkids; a sister Shirley (Ed) Nichols of Mansfield; sister-in-law Mary Swihart of Mansfield; along with many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

Dave loved woodworking and flower gardening. He taught his children many skills in life and instilled Christian values in them.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2017 in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home (81 Mill Rd). A funeral service giving glory to God for the life of Dave will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 at New Life Church of Christ (195 W Durbin Ave in Bellville). Richard Snyder, Jr. will officiate and burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery near Johnsville.
