LOUDONVILLE — Grace Vermilya added to an already impressive résumé Monday morning and so did her younger sister.

The older Vermilya earned a spot on the All-Ohio second team in Division IV when the Division III and Division IV teams were introduced Monday morning. Kid sister Corri was a special mention selection.

A senior, Grace cemented herself as the most dominant post player in Loudonville history during a remarkable senior season according to coach Tyler Bates. The 5-foot-11 Vermilya averaged 20.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 1.9 blocks a game for the Redbirds, who were undefeated in the regular season for the second time in program history and won just the second district title in school history. She is headed to Mount Vernon Nazarene University next year.

“Grace Vermilya is graduating as the best post player that our school has ever had,” Bates said. “When we needed Grace the most she stepped up for us.”

Vermilya will graduate with 1,392 career points. She scored a single game-record 53 points and swiped 13 rebounds in a 78-74 overtime win over Dalton in the district semifinals.

If her freshman season is any indication, younger sister Corri is ready to take up the mantle at Loudonville. The 5-foot-9 wing averaged 16 points, 11.9 points, 4.3 assists and 4.2 steals a game.

“She solidified her reputation as one of the top players in Ohio’s 2024 class,” Bates said. “She is special — never afraid of the moment and mature well beyond her years.”

Loudonville’s Shalen Guilliams was an honorable mention in Division IV. The junior averaged 13.9 points a game while connecting on a whopping 92 3-pointers and had 100 steals on the season.

Buckeye Central landed a pair of players on the All-Ohio team. Claudia Pifher joined Grace Vermilya on the second team, while Taylor Ratliff was a special mention selection.

A 5-foot-8 junior, Pifher led the Northern 10 Athletic Conference in scoring at 18.8 points a game while connecting on a conference-best 43 percent of her 3-point field goal attempts (40-for-93).

The 5-foot-6 Ratliff averaged 11 points a game as the Buckettes reached the Sweet 16 for a fifth straight year.

Lucas sophomore Shelby Grover and Danville junior Brooklynn Hess were also special mention selections. The 5-foot-9 Grover averaged 20 points and 8.4 rebounds a game while the 5-foot-11 Hess was good for 15.5 points a game.

Mansfield Christian’s Elle Schmitz was an honorable mention pick, along with Danville’s Ella Proper and East Knox’s Alexandria Magers. Schmitz averaged 17.9 points and 5.6 steals a game. A freshman, Proper averaged 12.8 points a game while Magers was good for 11.3 points a game.

In Division III, Crestview’s Kenedi Goon was a third team pick. The 6-foot-2 senior averaged 14.9 points a game as the Cougars won a piece of the Firelands Conference championship.

Colonel Crawford’s Allison Teglovic was a special mention selection in Division III. The 5-foot-8 senior averaged 14.5 points a game.

Fredericktown’s Gabby McDaniels was an honorable mention selection in Division III. The 5-foot-8 junior averaged 12.2 points a game.
