MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Sertoma Club was awarded a $10,000 grant on Feb. 13 as part of the Trinity Lutheran Outreach program.

It was presented by Fred Gottfried of Trinity Lutheran Church of Ashland.

Sertoma recipients of the grant were Christine Bricker, President and Steve Allen, Treasurer.

The grant will be used by Sertoma as part of their community education and awareness program for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and their families.

The funds will be used to acquire hearing assistive devices which will be built into a demonstration kit.

Presentations will then be made throughout an eight-county region covering north central Ohio.

Sertoma will then support families in need of these devices by providing educational assistance, partnering with other local agencies, or donating devices directly to children in need.

The Mansfield Sertoma Club meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Black Dog Tavern in Bellville.
