Trent and Jasmine Houston, of Mansfield, are the masterminds behind The Sweat Club, a new group fitness studio that's slated to open in downtown Mansfield this October.

MANSFIELD — After embarking on their own health and wellness journey, Mansfield couple Trent and Jasmine Houston want to encourage others to do the same.

The Houstons are opening a fitness studio on the square in downtown Mansfield. It’s located at at 12 S. Park St., right next to Reindeer Grill.

The husband-wife team envision their new studio dubbed, “The Sweat Club,” as a hub for group fitness classes that are led by local instructors. Classes will range from yoga and BootyBarre, to Zumba, HIIT, POUND and more.

They plan to have something for everyone, regardless of age or ability, and to build a system of support and accountability.

“We want to be a place where if someone’s not here we want to notice,” Jasmine said.

The studio’s slogan is, “Find your sweat.”

Jasmine said they hope to help people find what fitness regimen works for them, saying she personally found her niche in group fitness.

“I felt like (group fitness classes) were the thing that kept me most accountable…and more consistent,” she said.

Working as a nurse, Jasmine said she’s “seen all sides of health,” and knows the importance of being active. With the help of diet and exercise, she’s lost 60 pounds in the last year, she said.

The Houstons just recently began renovations on the roughly 1,100-square-foot space with intentions to hold a soft opening event on Oct. 11. This event will give guests a taste of what they can expect with a meet-and-greet mixer with the instructors, followed by a free mashup class. Click here for more information.

In addition to fitness, the Houstons want to make the studio available for events and programs, such as church groups and bridal/baby showers.

“We want this to be a space for the community,” Jasmine said.
