MANSFIELD — A group of 11 powerlifters from Mansfield recently competed at the USPA Drug-Tested Tillison Warehouse War in Orrville, and turned in an excellent performance.

Jeremiah Pocock, owner of the Katana Fitness Center, coaches the team.

“Eight of our lifters were first timers and three of them are over 60 years old. One of them is 70,” Pocock said. “I brag on their ages because our mission is to lead people toward lifelong fitness.

“When we have members so excited about their physicality in their 60s that they are willing to test themselves at an officially sanctioned strength event, it is a testament to our success.”

John Fuller was the top performer.  Fuller captured the Outstanding Lifter Award after winning his division, setting two national records and three state records.

A total of 14 personal records were set by the team, along with eight state records and a national record.
