SHELBY — The area’s best will be on display Sunday at Shelby High School.

The sixth annual North Central Ohio Girls All-Star Showcase will hit the court at 4 p.m. with the Underclass All-Star Game. The Senior All-Star Game will follow at 6 p.m.

“We are really excited to be in our sixth year of running this special event to recognize these talented young ladies,” event organizer and Shelby coach Natalie Lantz said. “This is an awesome opportunity for these young ladies to celebrate their high school careers and play with the best in our district, the northwest district and even the state.”

Players selected to the District 6 team were eligible for nomination. The players were then drafted onto teams.

Underclass Team White will be coached by Seneca East’s Don Vogt. Team members are Margaretta’s Taylor Malson and Jayden Moore, Willard’s Cassidy Crawford, Buckeye Central’s Claudia Pifher, St. Peter’s Sydney Cavenaugh, Ontario’s Carleigh Pearson, Lexington’s Avery Coleman, Madison’s Chesney Davis, Crestline’s Lauren Tadda and Wynford’s Lyndie Williams.

Underclass Team Black will be coach by Crestline’s Kyle Strauch. Team members include Norwalk St. Paul’s Danielle Smith and Megan Hammersmith, Seneca East’s Emily Seisel and Jessica Bowerman, Sandusky Perkins’ Olivia Howard, Lucas’ Jessie Grover, Edison’s Aliyah Caporini, Tiffin Columbian’s Kaia Woods, Crestview’s Kathleen Leeper and Buckeye Central’s Taylor Ratliff.

Senior Team White will be coached by Mansfield Senior’s J.R. Wilson. Team members are Sandusky Perkins’ Nancy Seigel and Aleena Winston, Margaretta’s Kennedi Hilton, Shelby’s Bailey Walter, Madison’s Brooklynn Arnold, Upper Sandusky’s Alexis Fogle, Seneca East’s Marina Adachi, Sandusky St. Mary’s Maggie London, Buckeye Central’s Courtney Pifher and Plymouth’s Emily Blanton.

Senior Team Black will be coached by Sandusky St. Mary’s Brian Ferber. Team members include St. Mary’s Tre McCarty and Ashley Huntley, Mansfield Senior’s Talayzha Catchings, Western Reserve’s Jenna Skrada, Plymouth’s Tristen Wiley, Colonel Crawford’s Danielle Horsley, Galion’s Gracie Groves, Madison’s Rebecca Phelps, Tiffin Columbian’s Abby Dryfuse and Ontario’s A’Sharion Houston.

In addition to the games, there will be a 3-point shooting competition, a skills competition and a shooting competition.

Tickets are $4 for students and seniors and $6 for adults and can be purchased at the door.
