Unbeaten Mansfield Senior (4-0) is ranked second in its region in the initial Ohio High School Athletic Association state football computer rankings, released Tuesday afternoon. The top eight teams in each region qualify for the playoffs at the end of the regular season.

MANSFIELD -- Mansfield Senior jumped on West Holmes early and often while rolling to a 42-7 victory at Arlin Field on Friday night.

The Tygers drew first blood on Terrance Flickinger's 46-yard touchdown run with 7:57 showing on the first-quarter clock. That was just an appetizer, as Senior High blew it open in the second period.

Quarterback Cameron Todd fired back-to-back TD passes of 22 yards to Angelo Grose and 69 yards to Cyrus Ellerbe to make it 21-0. But Aveon Grose supplied the backbreaker, an 83-yard pick-6 as the half ended. That pushed the bulge to 28-0 at intermission.

Amajeon Robertson's 1-yard plunge pushed the score to 35-0 and started a running clock with 8:49 showing in the third period.

The Knights averted the shutout when Noah Clark tossed a 26-yard TD pass to Braden Myers later in the quarter.

But Senior High had the last score of the night on Titus Arrington's 2-yard blast in the fourth stanza.

The Tygers enjoyed a huge statistical edge, chalking up 21 first downs to 10 for the visitors. Mansfield Senior also forged a 202-62 rushing advantage and a 251-74 passing margin. In total offense, coach Chioke Bradley's team dominated 453-136.
