MANSFIELD -- Mansfield Senior's first win of the season arrived on Friday night in dominating fashion. The Tygers muzzled Lexington 42-6 for a convincing Ohio Cardinal Conference victory at Arlin Field.
Neither team scored in the first period, but Senior High (1-2 overall, 1-1 in the OCC) erupted in the second quarter to take control of the game.

As the Mansfield Tygers hosted the Lexington Minutemen at Arlin Field Friday night, only one thing was guaranteed...someone was going to come away with their first win of the season. This night it would be the Tygers as they would roll on to the 42-6 victory.
Tyger quaterback Brock Hill tossed a 9-yard touchdown pass to Aveon Grose to open a 7-0 lead with 8:33 remainig in the half. It was the beginning of a big night for the signal-caller, who completed 16 of 27 passes for 270 yards and three TDs.
Mansfield Senior's defense then took center stage, specifically, Amajeon Robertson. The junior standout picked off a pass at the Lexington 7 and bulled in for a score at the 2:45 mark of the second period. It was the first of two interceptions he had in the game.
Moments later, Hill and Grose hooked up on a 16-yard touchdown pass to make it 21-0 at the half.
Hill opened the third period with a 17-yard TD run to stretch the margin to 28-0.
Lexington (0-3, 0-3) got on the board with 4:54 remaining in the third period on Cole Pauley's 1-yard plunge to make it 28-6 with 4:54 remaining in the third period.
But Senior High responded when Dakarion Mitchell rolled 18 yards for a TD on his only carry of the game to make it 35-6. Hill finished it with a 15-yard scoring stroke to Tyshaundre Hall with 9:35 remaining in the game.
Mansfield Senior outgained the Minutemen 354 to 113 in total yards and had a 16-6 edge in first downs. Senior High had 300 yards passing, with Myles Bradley catching five passes for 121 yards, and Grose piling up five aerials for 84 yards.
Lexington's Corbin Green racked up 64 yards on 13 carries to pace the Minutemen.
Next week Senior High travels to Ashland, while Lexington is home against West Holmes.
