ASHLAND — Ashland and Wooster were tied at 9-9 in the third quarter before the Generals’ offense took command to dominate the remainder of a 37-16 victory on Friday night at Community Stadium.

A win would’ve given the Arrows (4-6 overall, 4-2 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference) a share of the league title. Instead, Wooster (7-3, 6-0) earned a second straight outright championship.

The Generals also clinched a playoff berth, copping the No. 8 spot in Division II, Region 6, according to Joe Eitel’s playoff model. Although playoff pairings are slated to be released by the OHSAA on Sunday, Eitel has Wooster traveling to Avon next week.

First-year coach Sean Seder’s team experienced an interesting season. Ashland struggled through an 0-4 performance outside the conference, yet still played for a league title in the regular-season finale.
