MANSFIELD — If Mother Nature cooperates, area baseball fans will be in for a treat this week.

A couple of marquee matchups highlight a full schedule as tournament play gets underway.

In the Division II Tiffin district, No. 5 seed Lexington will visit No. 4 Galion at 5 p.m. Friday for a sectional title. That same day, No. 6 Ontario is at No. 5 Shelby for a sectional crown in the Sandusky district.

Mansfield Senior is the lone Division II team in the area to play a sectional semifinal game. The 10th-seeded Tygers visit No. 3 Norwalk at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The area’s other Division II team, Clear Fork, earned the No. 3 seed and a first-round bye. The Colts will host either No. 8 Celina or No. 9 Tiffin Columbian at 5 p.m. Friday.

Division I

Both Madison and Ashland will begin tournament play on the road. The 15th-seeded Rams visit No. 2 Toledo St. John’s at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The 10th-seeded Arrows are at No. 5 Anthony Wayne at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Division III

Two of the three area teams in the Division III Shelby district field will open on the road. No. 12 Wynford is at No. 10 Western Reserve at 5 p.m. Wednesday, while No. 11 Crestview is at No. 4 Huron at 5 p.m. Wednesday. No. 8 Crestview will host No. 13 Willard at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Loudonville earned the No. 3 seed in the Creston district and will host either No. 6 Northwestern or No. 11 Black River at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Division IV

The Division IV Galion district features a pair of double-area sectional semifinal games. No. 12 Mansfield Christian is at No. 8 St. Peter’s at 5 p.m. Tuesday, while No. 9 Crestline visits No. 5 Buckeye Central at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

No. 6 Lucas will host No. 7 Carey at 5 p.m. Tuesday with the winner visiting No. 3 Plymouth at 5 p.m. Thursday. Second-seeded Colonel Crawford hosts either Tiffin Calvert or Ridgemont at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Both Hillsdale and Mapleton are in the Medina district field and will be in action this week. No. 11 Mapleton is at No. 6 Columbia at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Hillsdale earned the No. 1 seed in the Medina district and will host No. 8 Independence or No. 9 Kidron Central Christian at 5 p.m. Thursday.
