PERRYSBURG -- The Ashland girls golf team captured its second invitational golf tournament championship in as many days after claiming the Perrysburg Yellow Jacket Open on Tuesday at White Pines Golf Club.
The Arrows, who won the Shelby Invitational on Monday, took first with a 314. Toledo St. Urusla was runner-up at 326, followed by Notre Dame Academy 338, Bowling Green 347, and Lexington in fifth place at 355. Mandie Ruminski topped Lexington and finished fourth overall.
"I am very pleased with the early progress the entire team is making," Arrows coach Nancy Noble said. "Kira, Anna, and Klaira played especially well with two of them having personal bests."
Ashland's individual scoring was led by Kira Moore who carded a personal best 69 to finish second overall. Anna Watson posted a 73, Klaira Paramore finished at 76, and Sarah Anderson had a 96. Livia Sponsler at 96, Abby Fossaceca at 98, and Emma Packard at 114 rounded out the team effort.
Moore, Watson, Ruminski and Paramore were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Ashland will be in action next at the Thunderbird Hills Golf Club in the Edison Invitational.
