MANSFIELD -- One resident of The Brittany condominiums has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently quarantining in their condo unit, according to part-owner and building manager Eric Kelley.
Residents of the other condo units are not being required to quarantine, but are being asked to take extra precautions.
“We asked everyone if they would please wear a mask when they’re inside the building, moving about through the common areas and of course wash your hands and everything that goes along with that,” Kelley said.
Building management is in the process of sanitizing all common area surfaces, including railings, doorknobs, light switches and laundry rooms.
The Brittany is a community of condos for residents age 55 or older located at 616 Cline Ave. According to Kelley, there are 46 units, but a few are under renovation and not currently occupied. Each condominium is self-contained and there are no common bathrooms or eating areas.
He added that The Brittany is following state and local guidelines and has worked with Richland Public Health to make sure all proper precautions are put in place.
Spokesperson Reed Richmond said RPH did not post notices on residents' doors asking them to quarantine, contrary to a rumor.
