Wilma L. Schreck, 95, of Galion passed away Monday morning, April 4, 2016 at Valley View Healthcare Center in Fremont where she had been a resident for the past five years.

She was born January 25, 1921 in Sistersville, West Virginia and was the daughter of Samuel and Dosia (Fulmer) Mendenhall. On November 16, 1941 she married H. E. ā€œGeneā€ Schreck and they enjoyed nearly 40 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on June 26, 1981.

Wilma graduated in 1939 from Sistersville High School. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Galion and had worked as a clerk at the former JCPenny in Galion. Wilma and her husband Gene enjoyed their family trips to Lake Erie.

Wilma is survived by a daughter Constance ā€œConnieā€ Hinton of Belle Haven, Virginia; a son, Terry (Jennifer) Schreck of Clyde; four grandchildren, William (Sherrie) Schreck, Carolyn (Sean) Mitchell, Robin (James) Knehr and Sheila Noftz and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ralph and Raymond Mendenhall.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Burial was in Iberia Cemetery.
