William Richard "Bill" Lynn

LEXINGTON–William Richard “Bill” Lynn, age 55, of Lexington passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a long illness.

He was born May 21, 1959 in Mansfield, the son of Russell Joseph and Gladys Georgia (Haught) Lynn and was graduated from Malabar High School in 1977.

Bill worked for many years as a self employed flooring expert, specializing in installation.

Free spirited, “Wild Bill” moved around a lot in his younger years, but always managed to settle back home in Richland County. Outgoing and friendly, Bill made friends easily, and had a wonderful sense of humor.

He loved fishing, following the San Francisco 49ers, and playing pool. Smart, he enjoyed the competition of chess, poker and other card games.

Bill was a doting father, who could be stern at times, but his firmness always came from a loving place.

He is survived by a son Kyle William Lynn and his mother Marla of Mansfield, three daughters Kristie, Tammy and Shelley; several grandchildren, five siblings Anna McDaniel of Marion, Robert Lynn of Indiana, Nellie Lynn of Lexington, Harry and Cindy Lynn of Lexington, and John Lynn of Mansfield; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest brother Russell Lynn and a brother-in-law Ralph McDaniel.

The family is holding a memorial gathering from 3-4 pm Friday, November 28, 2014 in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home with a brief time of reflection and sharing to follow at 4p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be made to the Friendly House.
