William “Bill” D. Beach

William “Bill” D. Beach, 82, of Land O'Lakes, Florida passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016.

Bill was born and grew up in Galion, and moved to Tampa, Florida in 1977. Bill served in the Army for two years and was in the reserves for two years. Before retiring in 1988, from GTE Data Services, he and Beverly spent some time in the Dominican Republic where they also worked with the local missionaries.

He continued contract work with GTE International/Codatel for several years after retirement. In recent years he enjoyed greeting people and bagging groceries at Publix, where he worked for five years. Bill was also a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Beverly J. (Seiter) Beach, his four children, Bryan and Terry Beach, of Tampa, Florida, Brenda and Larry Worden, of Tampa, Florida, Belinda and Brad Melcher, of Ohio, Becky and Felix Borges, of Tampa, Florida, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his brother, Don and Virginia Beach, of Arizona, his sister Mary Lou McClarren, of Ohio, his goddaughter, Rachael and Paul McKee, and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth I and Helen (Cole) Beach, an infant brother, his niece Cindy Amick and his granddaughter Stephanie Worden.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 10 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday April 11, 2016 with Rev. Pat Fruth officiating where military honors conducted by the U.S. Army and the Galion Crestline Veteran’s Military Funeral Detail will also be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation in care of the funeral home.
