Wanda F. Burgan, 79, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 10 at Smithville Western Care Center, Wooster, after a battle with Alzheimer’s.
Wanda was born in Harlan, Kentucky on June 28, 1937 to the late Roy and Ida (Gatliff) Cundiff. She married Raymond C. "RC" Burgan on Aug. 26, 1955 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2005.
Wanda was employed by Geyer’s Market in Mt. Gilead as a baker. Mrs. Burgan was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Mansfield. She enjoyed doing woodcrafts and painting ceramics. Wanda was an awesome Mom, Grandma and friend.
She is survived by her two sons, Brian (Karen) Burgan, of North Manchester, Indiana, Steve (Janie) Burgan, of Wooster, five grandchildren, Kasondra Shaw, Dustin Burgan, Danielle Oberly, Kaitlyn Burgan and Curtis Burgan, four great grandchildren, and three sisters, Joyce Prince, Judy Abston, both of Okeechobee, Florida, and Shirley Howard, of Harlan, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, David Burgan.
Friends may call Friday January 13, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery, Iberia.
