Steven George Meyers, 66, of Lexington, Ohio went to be with the Lord suddenly on Wednesday morning, Feb. 7, 2018.

Born in Hamilton, Ohio to George and Louise Meyers, Steve was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, son, uncle, cousin, co-worker and friend.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Audrey (Statzer) Meyers; two daughters, Stacie Meyers (Michael Dumas) and Stephanie (Steve) Miglietta; granddaughter, Liberty; mother, Louise Meyers; five siblings, Cindy (George) Gilbert, Jeanne (Robert) Hubbard, Neil (Debbie) Meyers, Marilyn (Dan) Bingle, and Keith Meyers; mother-in-law, Georgia Statzer and many brothers-in-law and their spouses, nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Meyers.

Steve graduated from Ross High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ross where he and Audrey were Youth Group Leaders. He and his wife enjoyed entertaining and hosted many backyard holiday parties and game nights. He attended Miami University and General Motors Institute and had a successful career with General Motors as an engineer (among other positions) that began at the Fisher Body Hamilton-Fairfield Plant.

He relocated with his family to Lexington, Ohio in 1987 to work at the GM Mansfield-Ontario Stamping Plant, where he worked until its closing. He continued to share his skills as an instructor at North Central State College in the IST Lab. He also attended Crossroads Church in Mansfield.

He enjoyed spending his time with his family and sharing laughs while playing cards (usually winning), outdoor lawn games and trips out West and to Florida. Throughout his life, he enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish on his pontoon boat on Clearfork Reservoir, hunt with his dad and brothers, and spend time farming his organic garden, ‘Liberty Ranch’ with his beloved granddaughter. He was a great cook, loved to use his meat smoker and also liked to can and pickle vegetables from his garden.

He had many hobbies throughout his life including photography and coin collecting. His favorite local hangout was Buck’s where he made many friends and shared his knowledge of meat smoking.

Steve was a generous, kind man with a great sense of humor and helped so many around him. He was a sharp-minded hard worker with integrity and a jack of all trades (car mechanic, electrician, carpenter and more).

He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him but we know he will be with us always.
