Samuel R. McClarren, 56, of Leipsic, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, after complications following a house fire.
Sam was born in Galion, on July 21, 1958 to the late Robert P. McClarren and Dorothy E. (Dysinger) McClarren who survives in Galion.
Sam was retired as a miner from Putnam Aggregates stone quarry. He was a member of the Ottawa Presbyterian Church. In his younger days he enjoyed racing and motorsports, including dirt bikes and go carting. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. For relaxation, he enjoyed riding his Yamaha motorcycle, hunting and shooting. Samuel also loved animals and had several kitties who were his pals. He graduated from Galion High School, class of 1977, he was very well known for his smile and great sense of humor.
He is survived by his children, Andrea McClarren of Ottawa and his son Alex McClarren of Ottoville, his four grandchildren, Alexis McClarren, Caleb McClarren, Makenna Little, and Kaden Little. Samuels’s grandchildren were the sparkle of his eye. Also surviving is his brother and sister-in-law Phil & Beverly McClarren of Findlay, and his sister Sandra Drees of Northwood.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North Galion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 12 at Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion with Rev. Paul Walter officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery, Iberia.
