Ruth Fugett

Ruth A. (Thompson) Fugett, 77, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015, following a brief illness.

Ruth was born on May 13, 1938, in Fort Gay, WV, to Roscoe S. and Lucy (Thompson) Thompson. She loved her grandchildren, and was devoted to them. She was always there for their school and sports activities. She also enjoyed cooking, especially for her family.

She is survived by three children, Alma Thorpe, Susie Wert, and Kenneth Fugett, all of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Steve (Robin) Hamm, Jeff (Heather) Hamm, Tammy Wert, Becky Wert, Neal (Jessica) Wert, Brian Wert, and Kenny Fugett; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean Fowler of WV, and Pat Lilly of LA.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Chad Johnson; two brothers, Bob Thompson and Dick Thompson; and three sisters, Edna Mae Fugett, Fay Webb, and Betty Webb.

Calling hours will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Springmill Cemetery.
