Roy L. Boggs, 64, of Shiloh, passed away on Saturday July 16, 2016 following a brief illness.

Roy was born March 29, 1952 in Mansfield, Ohio, to L. Glen Boggs and Mary (Mayo) Boggs. He was a member of Shenandoah Christian Church. Roy enjoyed landscaping and belonged to the Arbor Day Foundation. He was known as an historian, especially focusing on family genealogy. He enjoyed going to township auctions and collecting coins. He retired from the Air National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Muir) Boggs; three children, Joshua Boggs, Capt. Jonathan (YuChen) Boggs, and Danielle Boggs; three siblings, Sheila (Al) Bechtel, Susie Beckwith, and Rod (Amy) Boggs; five grandchildren, Bruce Boggs, Asher Boggs, Faith Boggs, Andrew Hamilton, and James Jenkins.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Werner-Gompf Funeral Home, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, Ohio 44905 and on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Shenandoah Christian Church, 5642 St. Route 13 N., Shiloh, Ohio 44878. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on July 25, 2016, at the church. Burial will follow at Shenandoah Cemetery with full Military Honors performed by R.C. Joint Veteran’s Burial Detail.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harmony House, 124 W. 3rd St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902.
