Robert “Lance” Carter

Robert “Lance” Carter, 46, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016.

Lance was born on Aug. 25, 1969, in Mansfield to Mary O. Carter. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed playing pool, in which he won many tournaments and awards.

He graduated from Madison Comprehensive High School in 1987 and earned his associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from OSU Mansfield. He loved his dog, Rufus and enjoyed spending time with his Granny, Mom, family, and friends. He enjoyed his work at the Holiday Inn.

He is survived by his mother, Mary O. Carter; his dog, Rufus; special friends, Mike (Libby) Blevins; Uncle John Q. (Kathy) Carter; and numerous friends.

Lance was preceded in death by his Granny Quincia V. Carter.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 and from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday Aug. 16, 2016, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral Service will follow on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016 at noon with Pastor Vaughn Loose officiating.
