On Oct. 30, 2014 God called Rita Mae Comer back home after a brave battle with cancer. Those she left behind to cherish her memory are her mother Lela Hillis of New Port Richey, FL her two children Dana L. Comer and James Comer, five grandchildren and sister Becky Smith of Twin Peaks, Colorado to rest on the eternal shores.
She spent her life caring for the old and sick as a nurse to many. Rita loved her black and white movies and of course Elvis. She will be loved and missed by all; we love and miss you very much mom.
Rita was born May 30, 1958 in Galion to the late Kerman Ginn and Lela (Cook) Hillis.
She was a member of the Gospel Baptist Church, Galion where she was baptized in 2006. She was a lifetime member of the Galion VFW post 79. She previously worked at the Church Directories for 6 years, was a Home Health Aide, and drove school bus for Head Start in Galion.
She was preceded in death by her father Kerman Ginn and Sister Beatrice Ginn.
Friends may call Monday Nov. 3, 2014, from 1-2 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way N., Galion. Funeral services will be held Monday Nov. 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Jed Brake officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
