Rick L. Pummell, 55, of Nova, Ohio, died unexpectedly Friday, August 8, 2014 at Samaritan Regional Health Care System. He was born February 20, 1959 in Lodi, Ohio.

Rick was employed with RRR Trucking and loved watching Andy Griffith and Mayberry television shows. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but his greatest enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren as he loved them very much and will be greatly missed by them.

Rick is survived by his wife, Cathy (Yenni) Pummell; a son, Ryan (Amanda) Pummell of Rochester, Ohio; an adoptive daughter, Christina Pryor of Dublin, Ohio; his parents, Larry (Sheila) Pummell of Arcadia, Florida and Janet Dreibelbis of West Salem; paternal grandparents, Russell and Lee Pummell; six grandchildren, Brianna Pummell, Madison Wright, Rylynn Pummell, Mariah Pummell, Landon Pummell and Jenna Lester; a brother, Tom (Lisa) Pummell of West Salem; a sister, Tracy (John Ray) Huff of Greenwich; three half brothers, Jeff (Stephanie) Pummell, John (Angela) Pummell and Jimmy Pummell all of Arcadia, Florida; two half sisters, Melissa Pummell of Arcadia, Florida and Lori Pummell of Ashland; two step brothers, Walter (Mary) Dreibelbis and Wes Dreibelbis both of Ashland; two step sisters, Tina Dreibelbis and Pam Stubbs both of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by his step father, Pat Dreibelbis; maternal grandparents, Glenn and Norma Markley; a step brother, Harold Dreibelbis; and an uncle, Ron Markley.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Nova Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
