Richard Henry “Ric” Curr Jr.

Richard Henry Curry Jr., 65, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday Dec. 2, 2018 at Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. 

Ric was born Friday, Sept. 25, 1953 to Richard (Elizabeth Hanson) Curry Sr. and he was lifetime resident. Ric graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1971. He attended Rio Grande University and Grand Rapids Community College where he played baseball, and he continued softball with various teams in Mansfield. He was a true fan to Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, Ohio State, and Mansfield Senior High.

Ric was employed by the Richland County Highway Engineering Department for 35 years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he served on the security team. 

Ric never met a stranger! He loved to grill out, work in the garden, socialize (workout) at the YMCA, and support his wife, children, and grandchildren whom were the love of his life.

Richard is survived by wife Rosie Curry, two daughters: Miatta Curry, Enisia (Christen) Lee, four grandchildren D’Zaiyah and D’Zhanie Walton, Esten and Eiya Lee, mother Elizabeth Curry, mother-in-law Bessie Ruth Wilkins all of Mansfield, and Godson Maurice (Tiffany) Sykes.

He was preceded in death by his father Richard Curry Sr.; a brother Gregory Curry.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church where his pastor Bishop William Morris Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery on Monday Dec. 10 at 10 a.m.

The family will also receive friends at his home 255 Rae Avenue daily from 4 to 7 p.m. until the day of service.
