Norman E. Bauer, 85, Crestline, died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Signature Health Care of Galion, after a sudden decline in health.

Norm was born in Crawford County on Sept. 26, 1930 to the late Boston and Emma (Feick) Bauer. He married Marilyn A. McFarland on Dec. 9, 1951 and she preceded him in death on May 2, 2010. Norm lived his entire life in Crestline.

Norm farmed most of his life. In 1962, he began working at PPG Industries, Inc. He continued farming until he sold the farm in 1973. In 1992 he retired from PPG from the Receiving and Shipping department. Norm enjoyed square dancing and tractor pulls. He loved to travel especially to Branson, Missouri and Alaska. Norm previously attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, Leesville.

He is survived by his two sons; Brad and Debra Bauer, of Crestline, and Tim Bauer, of Adrian, Michigan; his three grandchildren; Marylon Bauer, Mansfield, Brad Bauer II, and Brandon Bauer, both of Crestline, his sister; Sandra Fuson, of Ft. Myers, Florida, several nieces and nephews; Linda Salvati, Sylvia Perla, Louie Salvati, Richard Bauer, Eldon Bauer, Rodney Fuson, Warren Fuson, Robin Gardner, and his best friend; Richard Crumly, of Galion.

He was preceded in death by his brother; Paul (and Doris) Bauer, his sisters; Mildred (and Eugene) Salvati, and Betty (and Virgil) Fisher; and brother-in-law, Ray Fuson.

Friends may call Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 223 W. Main St., Crestline. Friends may also call Thursday, March 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home where services will be held immediately afterward with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating.

Norm will be entombed in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
