Michelle Leigh Hicks

Michelle Leigh Hicks, 27, of Loudonville, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, June 2, 2016 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center, Ashland.

Michelle was born June 23, 1988 in Mansfield and had been a Loudonville resident most of her life, graduating in 2007 from Loudonville High School. She was the receptionist at 1876 Salon in Millersburg and was a volunteer at the Holmes County Animal Shelter.

Michelle was a devoted and loving mother and an animal rescuer. She recently received her certification as a dog massage therapist.

Michelle is survived by her fiancée, R. Adam Close, of Loudonville; her daughter, Harper Michael Close, at home; her father and stepmother: Michael and Lori Hicks, of Lexington; her sister, Jennifer (Zac) Nichols, of Lexington; her half-sister, Tina (Jack) Shepherd, of Dayton; her nephew and niece: Kaleb and Porter Nichols, of Lexington; her paternal grandmother, Paula Shepherd, of Mansfield; and her three cats: Garfield, James and Fiona.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Weikle Mast in July 2015.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 10:30 am in Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with Rev. Dr. Steve Sullivan officiating. Friends are invited to visit the family after the service at Loudonville United Methodist Church while enjoying food and fellowship.
