Melinda A. Gibbs

Melinda A. Gibbs, 48, of Galion, died Friday, August 21, 2015 at Galion Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Melinda was born in Mansfield on March 16, 1967 to the late Nelson Jarvis and Betty (Bob) (Binion) Stevens who survives in Caledonia. She married William Gibbs on November 9, 1986 and he survives her.

Melinda was a 1985 graduate of Galion High School. She attended Trinity Gospel Tabernacle Church in Galion. She and her husband Bill were the former owners of Melinda’s Diner in Point Pleasant, WV. Melinda enjoyed fishing, watching ballgames and spending time with her family. She was an animal lover and was known to be a special caregiver for animals and humans alike.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her son Zachary A. Gibbs, Mansfield, her sister Michelle (Mike) Lear, Galion, her Granny, Polly Webb of Muncie, IN, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

 Friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion, with Rev. Rick Cox officiating.
