Marilyn Jane Townshend, 80, of Ashland, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. She was born on January 19, 1941 in Lodi, and was the daughter of Oscar and Mildred Wheeler Bauman.
Marilyn was a 1960 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. She worked in the offices at Neizners, Mansfield Beauty Supply, Quinn Paint, and lastly was employed at CVS. She was very proud of her attending Auto Mechanics Night School. Marilyn attended First Church of God where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Bellville and Ruth Chapter #17 Order of the Eastern Star, McLaughlin Women’s Relief Corp. #26 at state and national levels. Family was certainly a joy for Marilyn and she cherished the time they spent together. In her past time she loved doing word searches.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Bennett; her step son, Glen Townshend; and good friends, Ron (Mary) McClain and Sandy Kinnan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Townshend who passed away in 1997; her parents; and her sister, Ruth Ann Bauman.
Family and friends may visit from 1:00-2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill. Funeral services will begin immediately at 2:00 pm. Marilyn will be laid to rest at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Avenue Church, 1756 Park Ave. W. Ontario, OH 44906.
