MANSFIELD: Marie Louise (McFerren) Allen, 67, of Mansfield, passed away at OhioHealth on November 4, 2021.

Marie was best described as “pure at heart” and a good soul. Anyone who knew Marie loved her and the charisma she had. She was young at heart, up until the end. She never wanted to get old and made sure she didn’t by playing and interacting with any kid who was in her life – from Barbies to coloring, every kid felt at home with Marie.

Also, described as a “head banger” she closely followed hard rock bands like Kiss and Ozzy Osbourne.  She attended concerts whenever she could. Marie adored sunflowers, sunshine and baby animals.

Marie was able to turn her passion of framing into a career. She spent 20 years in the framing industry, over which half of that she owned her own framing business – Marie’s Frameshop. Marie was also an avid puzzle assembler and crossword puzzle champ.

Family was most important to her. Marie is survived by the love of her life and loving spouse of 23 years, Steve Allen, her two daughters Kristin (Corey) Gleason and Katie (Matthew) Wagner, and her only granddaughter Adriana, who was her light in life. She is also survived by her mother Doris McFerren, siblings Jim (Sherry) McFerren, Rick (Carol) McFerren, Lori (Joe) Tadijanac, sisters-in-law Cathy Setser and Cindy Allen, brother-in-law Greg (Christine) Allen; and nieces and nephews that Marie adored.

She is preceded in death by her father Raymond McFerren and her brother Kevin McFerren.

If you wish to make a donation in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sertoma for hearing impaired children.

Friends may call Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 2-5 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am.  Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
