Louise W. Snyder, 95, of Chesapeake and formerly of Galion, died Thursday, Sept, 1, 2016 at her home.

Louise was born in Ohio on Aug. 26, 1921 to the late Eston and Ollie (Lepp) Baird. She married Allen Snyder on June 28, 1940 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1969.

When living in Galion, Louise was a member of the former Evangelical Untied Brethren Church. Louise loved her family and friends. A stay-at-home mom, Louise would best be described as an “awesome Mom.”

She enjoyed her garden, and would can her vegetables. She especially loved her African Violets, and shopping with her friends. She traveled to Europe with her own mother, and traveled the states with her brother, Fred and his wife, Doris. She also traveled to Okinawa with her daughter Carol to visit her granddaughter Kellie and her husband Richie Smith.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Marshall of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Joyce and Ron Wildenthaler, of Coral Springs, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Christine Snyder, of Boerne, Texas; her seven grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Fred Baird, of Thermopolis, Wyoming, Ken Baird; and her sister, Becky Baird, of El Cerrito, California.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Allen Snyder; and her brother, Don Baird.
