Larry R. Crose, Sr., 70, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 7, 2015 in Arcadia, Florida.
Larry was born Nov. 27, 1944 in Mansfield and was the son of the late Walter and Nellie (Smedley) Crose. He was a retired steelworker from Empire Steel. Larry was affiliated with Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church and Belmont Avenue Community Church. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Sons of Herman, Elks, and United Steel Workers Local 169. Larry enjoyed collecting classic cars, riding motorcycles, camping, and assisting anybody that needed help. He loved his dog, Scooter.
Along with his wife, Linda (Stinehour) Ohl-Crose, Larry is survived by his children, Randy (Mikki) Crose of Kentucky, Cody (Stacie) Crose, Casey (Kristen) Crose, Chris (Marina) Crose, and Sheila Lambert all of Mansfield, Julie Hyatt of Idaho, Robert (Sonya) Ohl, Rodney Ohl, and Ryan (Karri) Ohl all of Mansfield; five siblings, Betty Surber, Carol (Herschel) Sargent, Donald Crose, Roy (Deb) Crose, and Coy (Rose) Crose; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nellie Crose; one sister, Roberta Horsley; and two sons, Larry Russell Crose, Jr. and William David Crose.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Earl Tackett and Pastor Gary Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Springmill Cemetery.
