Kevin Timmer

Bellville: Kevin J. Timmer Sr. passed away Saturday morning, May 2, 2015 in Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 65.

He was born July 22, 1949 in Mansfield to parents Joseph and Eileen (Bender) Timmer. After he was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School with the class of 1967, he proudly served his country by joining the Marine Corps. Kevin worked for Tappan, Ideal Electric, and retired in 2006 from Rabel Machine, Inc.

Kevin had a true passion for pigeons. He competitively showed fancy pigeons of all breeds and raced homing pigeons. He was a part of many clubs including the American German Beauty Homer Club, United Roller Club, International Roller Association, and the American Pouter Club. He also enjoyed entering into shows at the Kingwood Center for African Violets and was involved with the Orchid Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years Vicki Timmer; children Kevin J. (Bethany) Timmer II, Ryan D. Timmer, Erica Porter Bays, and Travis A. (Jessica) Porter; grandchildren Brooklynn Forsythe, Bailey Timmer, Brianna Bays, Kevin S. Timmer, Bridgette Bays, Jacob Timmer, Evan Porter, and Stella Porter; siblings Barb (Gary) Galliway, Randy (Pam) Timmer, Greg Timmer, Mark (Barb) Timmer, Tim Timmer, and several other loved ones and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Eileen Timmer.

Family and friends may gather Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, 81 Mill Road.

Contributions in his memory to the K9s for Warriors or The OSU James Cancer Research Center may be made at the funeral home.
