Keith William “Bill” Kick

Keith William “Bill” Kick, 76, of Mansfield, went home to be with his Lord, Friday morning, April 11, 2014. He was born March 8, 1938 in Loudonville and was the oldest of three sons to the late Brice W. and Dolores (Kline) Kick.

Bill graduated from Loudonville High School, was passionate about farming, and was very active in FFA. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves on his 17th birthday, completed 8 years of active service, and was a member of the Richland Co. Marine Corps League #527.

He married Karen (Munshower) Kick in Wooster and celebrated their 55th Anniversary on January 25, 2014. Bill’s family always came first to him and was his greatest joy. He had a unique sense of humor that brought many laughs. On November 1, 1964, he trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and had served the Lord as a deacon, music leader, Sunday School teacher, and usher at several churches. Since 1977, he has been an active member of Mansfield Baptist Temple. He served on the Pleasant Valley Ranch Board, Green Twp. Board of Appeals, and Eastview Community Water Association as a trustee.

Bill farmed his entire life – part-time when not full-time. He started working at Mansfield Plumbing Products right out of high school and continued for 18 years. He operated various types of heavy equipment and retired from Young’s Sand & Gravel in 2004.

Bill will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Karen Kick; three children, Kimberly (Lynn) Mott, Kolette (Jerry) Merritt, and Kenton D. (Stacy) Kick; thirteen grandchildren, Erica Kick, Aaron, Adam (Lauren), Heather, Jordan (Kate), Jared (Brittany), and Kaitlyn Mott, Lynsey (Jon) Rickman Michelle and Nickolas Reale, Nasha (DJ) Hathaway, Casey and Kortney Moore; twelve great-grandchildren, Chance, Clayton, Spencer, Laney, and Libby Mott, Korynn Reale, Brandon Mulvaine, Caitlin Cantrell, Emilee Hathaway, Sophia and Kendall Rickman, and Aiden Hammond; his middle brother, Brice Wesley (Bonnie) Kick; sister-in-law, Naomi Kick; sister-in-law Lynette (Dan) Reece, sister-in-law Nila (Jeff) Eklund; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and grandparents, Bill was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Charles Wayne “Skip” Kick.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Road, Mansfield with Rev. Gerald T. Brown and Pastor Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in Loudonville Cemetery, with the Joint Veterans Burial Detail performing Military Honors.
