Juba L. (Smith) Rose, 74, of Shiloh, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015, following a lengthy illness.
Juba was born on February 23, 1941, in Olive Hill, KY, to Frank Smith and Vernis M. (Miller) Smith Hall. She was retired from Therm-O-Disc. When she was able, she attended Hanna Rd. Church of God. Juba loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them. She was an avid writer, and enjoyed journaling her life, using her vast collection of pens. She also enjoyed drawing, sewing when she was able, shopping at the Dollar Store, and going to garage sales.
Along with her mother, Vernis Maxine (Miller) Smith Hall, Juba is survived by two children, David (Becky) Rose of Lucas, and Sheila (Chad) Stumbo of Shiloh; two grandchildren, Alana (Robert) Elliott and Robert (Gabrielle) Baker; four great-grandchildren, David, Robert, Aubrey, and Mason; three siblings, Gary (Nancy) Smith of KY, and Jatonda (Charles) Fisher and Brenda (Ed) Tuttle, both of Mansfield; and special friend, Bill Buckler of Mansfield.
Juba was preceded in death by her father, Frank Smith; her husband, William F. Rose; and one brother, Rudy Smith.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Brian Graham officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
