Joyce E. Jenkins

Joyce E. Jenkins, 70, of Galion, died Friday, February 20, 2015 at Morrow County Hospital, Mt. Gilead. 

Joyce was born in Galion on May 29, 1944 to the late Gerald Hessey and Bertha (Knipp) Thompson. She married Howard M. “Ken” Jenkins on November 21, 1975 in and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2011. 

Joyce had worked for many years as a Nurse’s Aide. She was a special person to everyone and always seemed to be taking care of someone else. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of God, Crestline. She was very proud of her grandsons and great granddaughter. Joyce enjoyed playing bingo, reading and surfing the internet. She could often be found playing games on Facebook and particularly enjoyed Farmville. 

She is survived by her son Douglas & Brenda Crane of Galion, her daughter Kimberly & Martin Poth of Crestline, her four grandsons: Casey Crane, Rion Watson, Joey Gray and Isaiah Poth, her great granddaughter Madelyn Gray, her sister Shirley & Craig Utter of Alamogordo, NM, her two brothers: Bill & Melissa Thompson of Pioneer and Kenneth & Arnella Thompson of Galion and her special baby, her Jack Russell Terrier, Linzy. 

Friends may call Monday from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion, with Elder Buddy Walters officiating.
