Joyce Ann Burns, 70, of Galion, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at her home in Galion after an extended illness.

Joyce was born in Ironton on May 22, 1945 to the late Ernest C. Wilson and Elizabeth J. (Boles) Sammons. She spent 30 years with her best friend and significant other, Harley Reynolds.

Joyce lived in Galion since 1980, coming from Rockford, Illinois. She was employed by Rockford Screw Machine Products as a factory worker for many years. Joyce was a member of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful sister and very proud of her family. Her partner, Harley, was her life. Joyce enjoyed going out to dinner and took pride in being a homemaker. She was also a great cook.

She is survived by her brother William Frank Sammons, Clyde, TX, her sister Judy (Harold) Poore, Mt. Gilead, and her great-great niece Clarissa Castle, Galion.

She was preceded in death by her son Chris A. Burns in 1980, her sister Beatrice Castle, and her beloved Pomeranian dog, Pepper.

Friends may call Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way N., Galion. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion.
