John Lee Tedrow

John Lee Tedrow, 66, of Bellville passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 in the Cleveland Clinic following an extended illness.

The son of Clarence and Mabel (Utterbach) Tedrow, John was born March 17, 1948 in Dennison. Raised on a dairy farm in Port Washington, John was graduated from Port Washington High School in 1966. That next Christmas, John married Linda Goettge on December 25, 1966.

John graduated from Ohio Technical College (DEVRY) with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and also graduated from Central Michigan University earning a master’s degree in business.

Since 1978, John owned and operated Digital Telephone and Electronics.

He was past president of the Bellville Youth League, the Port Washington Alumni Association, and the Wednesday night George Stoodt Golf League at Little Apple Golf Course. John also coached Little League and Babe Ruth League baseball in Bellville.

John enjoyed golfing with his son Toad, traveling (especially cruising) and attending the sporting and other school and church events of his children and grandchildren. He was a fan of Ohio State football, West Virginia Mountaineer basketball, and the Cincinnati Bengals. John also enjoyed studying genealogy.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda Tedrow of Bellville; son Greg (Linda) Tedrow of Bellville; grandchildren Shelby, Brady, Jackson, and Cooper Tedrow.

Sisters Mary Jurin of Marietta, Hazel (Arthur) Koschny of Worthington, and brother Harold Tedrow of Port Washington; sister-in-law Lori Goettge of Port Washington; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son James “Toad” Tedrow; father-in-law and mother-in-law Jim and Audrey Goettge.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Aune will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the Clear Fork Pony League Football Program may be made through the funeral home.
