Jewel Mae “Cleo” Baldridge, age 77, of Shelby passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Wednesday evening, Nov. 25, 2015.

She was born Feb. 28, 1938 in Salyersville, Kentucky, to Leonard and Frankie (Risner) Picklesimer. A resident of Shelby for the last 52 years, Cleo was a homemaker and a coach for the Shelby Girls Summer League Softball. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, music, bingo, playing cards with her family and friends and watching sports.

Cleo is survived by her husband, Glen Baldridge, whom she wed on Oct. 21, 1964; her children, Hattie (Hector) Velasco, of Willard,Vickie Gibson, of Shelby, Denver “Denny” Taylor, of Shelby, Tammie “Tooks” Baldridge, of Dunedin, Florida, Terry “Bo” (Robin) Baldridge, of Willard; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; siblings Justine (Kenny) Bond, of Louisville, Kentucky, Richard (Barb) Picklesimer, Delmar Picklesimer, Marty (Sue) Picklesimer, all of Willard.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by seven brothers, two sisters, one daughter, Stephanie Annette Baldridge, and grandson Brent Baldridge.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at the Tiro Baptist Church. Pastors Merlin Dye and Ron Parsons will officiate with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home and Crematory in Shelby on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial expressions may be made to American Cancer Society.
