BELLVILLE: Irene Beal, 97, long time Bellville resident, passed away May 6, 2021.

The daughter of Jay and Bertha (Melton) Fosdyke, Irene was born August 16, 1923 and graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Henryetta, Oklahoma in 1941.

On December 24, 1943 she married Earl Beal at the Owl Creek Church of the Brethren, in Ankenytown, Ohio. Irene and husband Earl celebrated 73 years of marriage before his death in 2017.

Fun loving, Irene was a dedicated and ultimate housewife, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She supported her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in all their activities and life endeavors.

Irene was a wonderful cook and baker and her home was always filled with the wonderful aroma of homemade food. She was also an avid sewer. She worked for the Strieb Insurance Company and later the Garber Insurance Company.

Irene was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and spent her childhood years between Oklahoma and Ohio. She attended The New Life Church of Christ in Bellville.

She is survived by her sons Norman (Kathy) Beal and Stephen (Sue) Beal both of Bellville; grandchildren Kurtis Beal and Nancy (Jeff) Labaki all of Bellville, Stephenie Beal of Littleton, Colorado and Kristine (Patrick) Boggs of Bellville; great grandchildren Luke and Annika Labaki, Landon Beal and Rayne Beal; sister Joyce Lee Carlisle of Grandville, Ohio; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nirma Jean and Kenneth Armstrong of Fredericktown.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Beal, sister and brother-in-law June (Alton) Ritchie, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Erma Belle (Kenneth) Showalter, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Margarette Beal, and brother-in-law Wayne Carlisle.

The Beal family will receive friends Monday, May 10, 2021 from 11 am to 1 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will begin at 1 pm. Celebrant Dave Roberts will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to OhioHealth Hospice may be made through the funeral home.
