H. Jean Patterson, 89, of Galion, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at Taylor House, Findlay.

Jean was born in Pulaskiville on March 15, 1925 to the late Thomas B. and Viola (Frazier) Yarman.  Jean married Irvin Elwood Clever and lived in Mansfield where one son Irvin Elwood Clever, Jr. was born.  After Irvin Sr. was drafted into the Army, Jean moved to Galion and worked for Perfection Body Co.  Irv Sr. was KIA in Germany February 24, 1945.  Jean met Willard “Bill” Patterson at the Perfection and they were married on January 17, 1946.  To this union Dawn Louise and Philip Patterson were born.  Dawn passed away in infancy.  They lived in Galion for the next 49 years.  Bill passed away March 7, 1995.  She continued to live in Galion until February 2011 when she moved to an assisted living facility in Findlay and resided there until her death. 

She had attended Fredericktown High School. When Jean was 13 years old, she accepted Christ as her savior.  Jean loved knitting, flowers and yard work.  A gourmet cook, she was also very artistic.

She is survived by her two sons Irvin E. & Carol Clever, Jr., Tuscola, TX and Philip M. & Carolyn “Cookie” Patterson, Van Buren, her six grandchildren Irvin Clever III, Jerod & Kayanna Clever, Lynn Ann & Derick Price, Jodi Lynn Salem, Mike Patterson and Todd Patterson, her nine great-grandchildren Sara Salem, Katie Salem, Molli Patterson, Eli Patterson, Michael Chase Price, Kiersten Price, Joshua Price, Ava Clever and Koda Clever, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter Dawn Louise Patterson and five sisters and three brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at Findlay Seventh Day Adventist Church, 622 W. Melrose Avenue, Findlay, with Pastor Patrick Mazani officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
