Gladys R. Buckley, 85, of Butler, passed away Wednesday evening, November 12, 2014 in Winchester Terrace Nursing Home.
The daughter of Samuel and Helen (Hoeflich) Levingston, Gladys was born April 8, 1929 in Bellville. In the spring of 1947 she was graduated from Bellville High School. Just a few months later, on July 5, she married Charles Buckley.
For 17 years Gladys worked for Templed Hills Church Camp. She enjoyed reading and always had a pet at her side. More importantly, Gladys deeply loved her family.
Surviving are her children: Elizabeth Hurst of Lexington, Rose (Robert) Young of Lucas, Michael Buckley of Bellville, Valeria (Gary) Smith of Butler, Frankie Griesbach of Bellville, Jonnie (Ron) Barnes of Mansfield; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; brothers Robert (Linda) Levingston of Bellville, Paul Levingston of Bellville, James Levingston of Mansfield; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Buckley; sons Russell and Charles Buckley; grandsons Dwayne, Jerry and Michael; one great-great grandchild; brothers Lewis, Frederick, and William Levingston.
The family will receive friends today, Friday, November 14, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Zion Four Corners Cemetery near Butler.
