Geraldine V. Ruffaner, age 94, a resident of Shelby died Saturday August 1, 2015 in Crestwood Care Center.

Born September 12, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan to John Albert and Mary (Pearce) Hess, she had been a Mansfield resident for many years moving to Shelby in 2000. Mrs. Ruffaner was a 1938 graduate of Madison High School and was employed with Martin Hardware for thirty years retiring in 1995. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby.

Survivors include her two daughters, Shirley (Danny) Wray of Shelby and Betty Mathes and friend Bud Summerton of Mansfield; one son, Wayne (Delcie) Ethel of Dexter, Georgia; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ruffaner and one sister Margaret Latimer.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday August 5, 2015 at the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Pastor Russell Yoak will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. The family requests that memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church or Boys Town.
