George Dale Morrison, 89, of Galion, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 at Galion Pointe Nursing Home, Galion.

George was born in Morrow County on Oct. 18, 1927 to the late Samuel and Ruth (Hershner) Morrison. He married Willie M. (Mann) Morrison on Dec. 6, 1968 and she preceded him in death on June 27, 1976. He then married Ruth L. (McClenathan) Morrison on Aug. 4, 1978 and she preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 2007.

George was affiliated with the United Church of Christ. He retired in 1990 from Galion Iron Works after 35 years of service. George enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and country music. He loved his two Chihuahuas and his German Schnauzer.

He is survived by his children, Linda Weikle, of Fredericktown, Samuel and Lynda Morrison, of Edison, Debra Morrison, of Galion, Kathryn and Steven Aller, of Galion; 12 grandchildren, Tara and Jason DeMers, Jason Weikle, Samuel G. and Natasha Morrison, Levi Aller, Mara Aller, Uriah Aller, Jasper Earl, Cherokee Aller, Ryle Aller, Korrina Comstock, Darrell Morrison, John Morrison; 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lou Ball, of New Winchester, Frances and Ronnie Lentz, of Steam Corners, sister-in-law, Barb Morrison, of Galion and brother-in-law, Alvin Rinehart, of Lexington.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Benjena Earl; his son, Ralph Morrison; his grandson; his brothers and sisters, John Morrison, Margaret Rinehart, Gene Morrison and Susan Click; and the mother of his first two children, Lena Mae (Fleming) Smith.

Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Burial will be in Shauck Cemetery, Johnsville, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
