Eunice E. Denton

Eunice E. Denton, 87, of Galion passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Magnolia Terrace.

Born July 31, 1928 in Morrow County, she was the daughter of the late Ira G. and Mabel Irene (Hildebrand) Ruhl. She married Lowell F. Denton on Nov. 15, 1949 and he preceded her on Aug. 4, 2006.

She was a graduate of Johnsville High School in 1946 and worked as a clerk at the former Vaughn’s Pharmacy in Galion. Eunice was very active at the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and was also very active in the Colonel Crawford Lions Club. She enjoyed sewing and making crafts.

She is survived by three daughters, Gloria (Craig) Carr, of Poland, Ohio, Jan (John) Weaver, of Ocala, Florida, and Melanie Walburn, of Galloway; two grandchildren, Kimberley (Mike) Ciccone and Jennifer Marchi; one great granddaughter, Jana Ciccone; three step-grandchildren, Kari Rucker, Stephanie Struckman and Rick Walburn; eight step great-grandchildren and two sisters, Shirley (Joe) Lloyd, of Fredericktown and Zelda (Don) Gill, of Farmington, New Mexico.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Haring and three brothers, Richard, Lowell and Walter Ruhl.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, with Ray and Don Linn, ministers officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens in Crestline.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Church of Christ or to the Colonel Crawford Lions Club in care of the funeral home.
