Elizabeth “Betty” McHenry, age 91 of Galion passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Galion Pointe.

She was born July 14, 1924 in Galion and was the daughter of Frank and Clarice (Bates) Berger.

In her early teens, she was the Junior Arizona State Champion in diving. Betty moved back to Galion and she graduated from Galion High School in 1941. Betty worked as a nurse’s aide until she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She then worked for 25 years at Galion Community Hospital until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Galion Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1943 and a former member of the Licensed Practical Nurses Association for 20 years. Betty was devoted to her family and her faith.

Betty is survived by her daughters Paula (Jon) Cooperrider of Loudonville, Priscilla (Ted) Angelo of Marco Island, FL; nine grandchildren Chip (Teresa) Cooperrider, Heidi (Don) Cooperrider Young, Tina (Tim Cowen) Cooperrider, Dana Riffel, David (Stephanie Buchanan) Stake, Sal (Amanda) Angelo, Rose (Michael) Moench, Michael and Mark Brumfield; 14 great-grandchildren and a brother Frank (Dorothy) Berger of Chula Vista, California.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son Donald E. Brumfield and a sister Mary Ann Wallen.

There will be a Memorial Service on November 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Galion Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 915 Portland Way North, Galion, OH 44833.
